I'm applying to a university job but I have a question. My ex-girlfriend filed a temporary restraining order against me which was dismissed and she later withdrew the petition herself. She basically lied to damage my reputation for dumping her. Does that mean I cant get get an academic job now? Background checks are pretty thorough and wont this show up. I'm so embarrassed this even happened.

It’s a civil not criminal issue, so there was no problem with license renewal. But it goes on public record though even though the judge dismissed the case and laughed during the hearing.

You dodged a bullet not marrying this one. Consider yourself lucky!

but does anybody knowhow this will affect a job as a Clinical Instructor or Assistant Professor? Will they withdraw an offer once this shows up on a background check? the petitioner withdrew the injunction herself and even the judge made note that she should get mental help!

I may not be 100% correct but unless you’re applying for VA privileges, I don’t think academic departments do those kinds of background checks. They still may ask you to “check the box” but my Law and Order law degree doesn’t think a restraining order applies unless you were also convicted or a felony or misdemeanor. Again, I have a TV JD and not a real one.

This seems logical to me as well, but I also only have a TV law degree.

Thank you all for your feedback. There is no criminal conduct, misdemeanor, or violation of the order on any kind. It’s a dismissed temp restraining order. My attorney states this is a civil issue and I shouldn’t be too worried, but it doesn’t help. I still am. I have a perfect record, not even a parking ticket ever!

U are fine. Relax.

My instinct says, yes probably. Just the liability alone of potentially hiring the next Ted Bundy when they (potentially again) had a red flag will scare them off.

Ted Bundy? Wtf? This was civil not a criminal case and it was dismissed bcz the petitioner withdrew the order.

You knew it was going to be profound about 30 seconds in when he drew the crazy axis starting at a 4 ...

That’s my favorite part 🤣

They’re all crazy - you just have to find your crazy.

I have been a big fan of this video for several years. I recently showed my wife, just to see what she would think, knowing full well that we typically have very different senses of humor. She was instantly pissed off and hated it, exactly as expected. Trying to categorize where she is on the matrix at the moment.
Another one that will most certainly piss off the females is "The Ladder Theory." However, I feel that all men will view both and instantly say, "yep, nailed it" about both.

Did she at least like the 2nd part where he does the matrix for men?

Well obviously she has to be between a 8-10 for hot and a 5-7 for crazy

As he stated, she may appear at one spot on the matrix and then vanish and reappear somewhere else. But yes to your guess for where she spends most of her time.

That's a fact

I dated a girl once who was a 10 for hot and a 10 for crazy. Seriously thought about marrying her too. Of course that was before I watched this video.

Why did he film the video armed? Was the person behind the camera in the danger zone and he was concerned he might need to defend himself?
