I have attended a university for 2 years post undergrad, however, I left this school due to familial problems. While at this university, I was placed on academic probation for a period of time. I have decided to apply to vet school instead of return to this university. Do I need to include these 2 years of school on my application, especially with the academic probation and familial situation? Can I just add my undergrad and omit everything else?

You are required to submit all educational transcripts

I believe there is a section where you can provide and explanation. I have the same issue im just trying to explain my situation the best I can in hopes the see that I went back and finished my degree.

Make sure you don’t make excuses in your explanation statement. They want to see that you learned from it and how to avoid it in the future. They don’t want you to just say why you had a rough time and place all the plane on that.

Yes I am definitely trying to figure out how to word it in a way that I am not making excuses. Even though its embarrassing I guess I should find someone to read it for me.

I think someone (maybe 2?) in the 2023 personal statement readers list said they had written explanation statements and could read over people’s if they wanted

I was on academic probation way back when. Absolutely do NOT omit it from your application, they will find out (ever heard of the national student clearing house??). When they find out you’ve omitted it, your application will immediately be trashed for being dishonest and likely will be flagged for future cycles.

Just be honest, don’t make excuses and own up to your mistakes, and most importantly show how you’ve changed and how you learned from it. Hopefully your grades have improved since then, if not then I’d highly suggest retaking classes and waiting a few cycles to apply. A few vet schools will count repeated grades if they were taken at the same university.

would you be willing to read? if so do I just send it in a pm here? I am still trying to figure out how to work this forum haha
Yes you can pm it to me. I have a busy week coming up but I will get my feedback back to you as soon as I can.

Hi, would anyone be willing to read my explanation statement for UF's supplemental question this cycle?

If you're attending classes this fall and spring do you add the school to the colleges attended and send a transcript with courses in process?

Yes you need to put all courses that are in progress or planned for the future. You won’t have them on a transcript yet, but the schools need to know that you’re planning on taking them, especially if they’re prereqs. After fall semester lots of schools will require fall transcripts to be sent in.
