well this semesters coming to an end and its not looking to good for me. i am so close to a B in biochem... im at a 79.6... and im pretty sure the bleeping teacher is not going to round. and that b or c makes the diff between academic probation. and if next semester is below a 2.5 i get the boot 🙁 :scared: so i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem.. because im scared crapless about next semester.. I did slack off a little at the beggining of this semester... but for the most part i worked my ace off!! and if i cant hack it this semester... why should next semester be any better. well i guess ill get back to studying cell bio.. even though it doesnt really matter what i get... since im already screwed anyway 😡 or maybe ill just go to bed 😴

so if anyone is on academic probation let me know because id like to know how you did the following semeter.
.god i feel like such a looser.. theres so many people in or class who are half *****s and there doing better than me

If you're legitimately working hard and on AP there's something fundamentally flawed with your modus operandi.... see a counselor/adviser/professor and see if you can improve your study habits and approach asap.

Why dont you trying easing up on the workload a bit. How about take 1 science class and the rest fillers. Give yourself something to work with right now until you figure out better methods to go about your studies.

Do they let you do that at BU? I thought most dental schools have a pretty set curriculum.

I am glad your prof gave you a B. Your 1st semester grades may be poor because you might have a harder time adjusting to a more 'science-intensive' curriculum than other people. However, you must pick it up in the 2nd semester or you should seriously re-evaluate your study techniques so that you can get through the 2nd year (which is the hardest of all 4 years), and also to pass your boards.

Good Luck!

is the second year the hardest at all dental schools?

I believe so, because you will have tons of lab work (dentures, BP Fixed, Restorative, etc) plus Pathology (general and oral) and Pharmacology, these are heavy stuff already not mentioning the rest of your courses.
