I am looking for some CA2, CA3, fellows or new attendings to help with a project that I am working on. I will be starting an online anesthesia question bank and am looking for a few more people to help write questions. The website and software is all in place, but more questions are needed. PM me if you are interested in helping out and maybe making a little extra money.

EDIT: I have edited the post to please copro. While this is not a "money making scheme," it is a way for residents to make a little bit of extra money. I am not the owner of the site. My job is to get anesthesia residents/fellows to HELP me do the "heavy lifting." Obviously I can not do all of this heavy lifting by myself, nor will I reap all of the rewards of the lifting. If you're a broke resident like me, and would like to make some money doing something other than moonlighting or selling plasma, then send me a PM. If you are appauled by the idea, then try to act like a grown up and move on.

Sorry... but... 🙄

How about instead of doing something to fill your pocket and self-serve for the board exam you actually do some meaningful research in the field, and then publish it, so that the Europeans don't continue to make us look like nothing more than a bunch of overpaid technicians?

In residency, I did. Twice.

I am not sure why you think that it's up to you to decide what the OP should or should not do? 😕

Listen, Dick (your name is "Dick", isn't it?).

I click on a thread listed as "Academic Project" thinking that maybe, just maybe, this nice young resident poster may have some interesting discussion about some novel research he's working on that he wants to share and, perhaps, is seeking some advice.

No.

What I get is ostensibly a money-making scheme where he's trying to enlist others to do some of the heavy lifting where maybe, just maybe, he'll share some of the pie.

Don't bait people in by titling the thread "Academic project". How about "Money making scheme" instead?

So, yet, after your long (but not long enough) hiatus where you had plenty of time to sit in the corner and think, you still get the gist of this thread, and my response to it, completely wrong.

Why am I not surprised?

Name calling is against SDN TOS last time I checked.
Anyway, I truly undestand your reaction and I realise that i have in the past treated you like the whiny little thing you are and was mean to you on many occasions so it's expected from you to be so hurt and upset.
But I still think that the fact that you were abused as a resident and people made you do their work does not entitle you to tell people what they should or should not do.

You still don't get it do you, Dick?

NO ONE MISSED YOU WHEN YOU - IN YOUR WHINY LITTLE DICK WAY - SULKED OFF INTO THE CORNER FOR A SELF-IMPOSED TIME OUT.

YET, now still you come back here in your pseudo-Socratic bullsh*t method of being... a well... your name is "Dick", after all (unless you correct me)... and try to impose your moralistic, Left-wing nutjob agenda on this forum.

LET ME SPELL IT OUT FOR YOU CLEARLY (on this particular thread and in this particular point) since you appear to be so friggin' thick that you routinely demonstrate that you can't grasp BASIC concepts:

(1) The OP posted a title to a thread: "Academic project"
(2) I clicked on said thread, and promptly had my time wasted by the misleading title
(3) I commented to what, IN MY RIGHTFUL AND PERFECTLY CORRECT OPINION THAT I WAS ALLOWED TO OPENLY STATE ON THIS FORUM, appeared to me to be greedy false adverstising
(4) You, Dick, come on and F***ING moralize to me, Dick, again not getting the bigger point, Dick, that this thread has NOTHING TO DO WITH AN ACADEMIC PROJECT!

So, I ask you: WHY DON'T YOU GO CRAWL BACK INTO YOUR CORNER - NO ONE MISSED YOU!*

Thank you.

*Scratch that: I'm sure there are a few other misguided d-bags out there who actually mistook your psuedo-intellectual, quasi-Socratic verbal diarrhea as some form of cogent discourse.

Copro: Huh? We destroy the euros in research as a nation (on whole), and we make more money than they do using capitalistic ideas. Are you post-call, or something?

Badgas, sounds like a good idea, but I think there are already many out there, including the british system (aussie) MCQ.

Not in the field of Anesthesiology, where the bulk of novel research comes from Europe.

This point is so well-known that it is embarrassing to many of the 126 academic-affiliated programs out there, a large number of which that are university based, who haven't published a paper in the Journal Anesthesiology in the past 5 (or more) years... and in some cases never.

-copro

(P.S. Not post-call. I just can't stand that moralizing d-bag, and would gladly tell him the same were I ever to actually meet him face-to-face. And, the fact that he came back to this forum after that open, ranting, whiny declaration that, what was that he said, he was sorry he wasted every single second posting here. For that alone, he is utmost deserving of all the possible ridicule and opprobrium that I and everyone else can heap on him, especially considering his arrogant, sanctimonious post when he re-appeared stating, how did he put it, there was "hope yet" for this forum... f**king tool.)

Again,
Deep feelings of hurt and shame are obvious in your flight of ideas and "coprolalia" 😀
So, what is that stupid thing again about Europe advancing anesthesiology because we are technicians?
If you work for a group where they treat you like the little POS you are, that does not mean you should start projecting your feelings of shame and humiliation over the whole specialty.
