Academic renewal

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
When you take a class again if you failed it and then it gets replaced with the better grade and the bad grade is no longer counted into your gpa.

DO schools used to be like that but not anymore

Does anyone know if any medical schools accept academic renewal?

There are three application services in the US: AMCAS, AACOMAS, and TMDSAS (Texas Publics). None of them allow grade substitution. All grades earned are included in their calculations.

That’s what I thought. I just wanted to verify it. Thank you. Did you happen to know if you have to include all grades from all the schools you have gone to into your gpa even if you did you use those courses to transfer during your under graduate?

ALL grades from ANY institution you attended.

What is a dual enrollment class?
It also includes military credits, foreign credits accepted by a US university, AP credits, IB credits, CLEP, Community College, non-home institute credits, ALL repeated coursework, and so on. Literally everything.

AP credits dont have to be reported if they were never on a transript. AP isn’t an accredited learning institution like any college is. I took two AP courses and only one ended up on my transcript at all

Thank you for the correction! I guess I am just that guy with 35 AP credits that made my Freshman year nonexistent per AMCAS lol
