I know this has probably been asked before, but what would someone expect as a starting salary at a mid range place say like UVA or North Carolina for the first time starting assistant professor?

I know pirvate practice makes a ton more, but how low do academics start in oncology?

thanks for any help.

any thoughts from someone, I would appreciate it.

no one has any info about this???

I've heard some people say that starting academic heme/onc salaries are somewhere in the range of $120-160k depending on the location and what you bring to the table. I have no way to verify this though, so I'm not sure if it's at all accurate, especially in light of hearing from friends who went into private practice heme/onc that they were offered $300-350k right out of fellowship.

What have others heard?
