Academic Update....interviews after?

Do some schools wait to see how you do after the academic update if your GPA is on the lower end to give out interviews?

I have two quarters worth of grades that will be going into my academic update...will it help at all in getting interviews if I do really well? I put all the classes that were planned/in progress on my AADSAS

Yes it is mainly for the students who didn't make the cut originally and have improved during the application cycle. It will for sure help anyone who has a low GPA but has done well.

i got an inteview like immediately after updating my app...so they do wait...(maybe)
- i updated extracurricular hours, nothing about grades b/c i had the same gpa before and after update

I was under the impression that applicants would not be able to revise this section after e-submitting AADSAS. Did you write a letter to schools or something?

Sorry, I'm still a tad confused. You're a dental student, no? Are you saying that when you applied last cycle you were able to update extracurriculars during the Academic Update period? Or that last cycle you were a re-applicant and just updated your extracurriculars before re-submitting AADSAS?

Update happens in November right? Last cycle (class of 2017), I updated my extracurricular hours and received an invite a week later. I don't know if update led to invite or it was just a coincidence. Im a dental student

Yeah, but I thought it was strictly an academic update. AADSAS says you can't update EC's--am I wrong in thinking that?

According to the ADEA website, it says it is only an academic update. "During the Academic Update period, applicants can supply grades earned for courses that were listed in the "Course Planned/InProgress" section of the application, and can add/delete/modify courses listed in that section."

There is no mention of EC's. Either they are putting EC's under the umbrella, or their policies have changed.
