academic update question

Hey! I'm just wondering if dental school requires everyone to complete the academic update? I haven't been accepted anywhere and I did well my last semester, but my GPAs lowered slightly. Thanks!

If it lowered your GPA, don't update. I plan on updating. If I take the planned courses I have for summer and spring (of the previous academic year), for me, it will raise my GPA about .3 which is huge.

If you're still waiting to hear back about interview invites I'd update, if not, there wouldn't be much need - though you'll be required to send in your transcripts eventually. Some schools will actually put a hold on you before sending out interview invites to get your Fall Grades.

I was wondering the same thing...I interviewed at three schools and was waitlisted and this semester my GPA lowered by 0.1...could the schools that waitlisted not look at my application come jan 15th since I have not updated yet? Cause then i would rather just send it in. MY cumm is 3.47 now. any info will help thanks.

Well, I'm not sure how every school works their waitlists, but I don't think it would really hurt you to do that.
