How does the AADSAS Academic Update work?? I will need to update grades for Summer as well as Fall classes. I called them and the lady told me I had to wait until December to input grades for both of those terms and that I could do it all online but she seemed very confused. Also, should I contact each school separately at the end of each term so they can include the new grades with my file? Thanks!!

So this year, they changed things & made the update earlier, as well as added a second update period (that's why she might've been confused..idk).

Summer grades: Update from August 15th to September 30th. Change the summer term from "in progress" to "complete", and add the grades that you received. Download the transcript request form/matching form again (if you don't have it from before, get it from Academic History -> Colleges Attended), and then have your school mail a new official transcript in with your summer grades on it (with the matching form of course).
-------> After doing all these, your transcript will be received by ADEA, and added to your application, which will undergo verification once more. Your GPAs will be updated once verification is complete, and automatically sent out to schools.

Fall grades: Update from December 1st to February 1st (2019). Same steps as above, change the fall term from "in progress" to "complete", add grades, send transcript + form. Wait for verification, and your new updated app will automatically be sent to schools.

You don't need to contact the schools directly- the system will do it for you.

Will updating our summer grades in anyway delay the application that has already been verified and everything?

I don't think so, schools will still have that copy while your new grades are added. I don't think the Academic Update verification takes as long as the first time you submit only because there's only one term to verify. I'd recommend everyone update, especially more so if your GPAs will go up (even just a teeny bit) --> you'll be a more competitive applicant & more appealing to schools.

Do you have to do an academic update?

I just had exams for my summer term, and I'm a little nervous about one of my courses. I dont know if it'll affect my GPA too much, but WHAT IF? Can i just opt to wait til after December 1st to update, because I already have interviews?
