I know that the deadline for the academic update is quickly approaching, but I was wondering if you think it is better to abstain from sending in my fall grades? Sending them in would lower my overall gpa from like a 3.36 to a 3.29. Any ideas on what to do? I am scared that if I don't send an update they might not consider me at all, and if I do send the grades then they will have more of a reason to reject me!

well i figure that even if you dont send it, the schools will still end up finding out your grades when they ask for your transcript so you cant run away from that...but i think its a good idea just to be on top of things with aadsas because some schools do rely on it for updates

Are you accepted yet? If not, then I think your best bet would be refrain from sending them - yet. If you are already accepted, I don't see how that .07 GPA change is gonna affect your admission much.

No, I am not accepted anywhere yet. I am on the waitlist at one school which is my top choice (interviewed at 2 schools), and I have yet to hear back from 8 other schools. It's not mandatory to complete the update, correct?

I don't think it is mandatory, however, schools can ask you for your grades if they wish. I think it is best to update them if you have a pre req course among your courses. Schools might be waiting to see how you've done in your pre req courses.

I think try to approach it positively..dont think about rejection but think about completion of process.

Is academic update is good for applicants who are waitlisted. I don't really see the point of doing it if you are accepted. Just send your transcript to the school you're going to because they need that anyway, why send your updated grades to schools you aren't attending?
