accelerated programs

While looking at pharmacy schools I noticed that there are a couple that offer accelerated programs. What are the advantages and disadvantages of such programs? Are these just diploma mills or do you really get a quality education?
I noticed one is from LECOM which is a new program, how good are programs like that?

Any help anyone can offer is welcomed!

advantages - done a year ealier, save a years tuition, make a years wages
disadvantages - no summers off, heavier workload

Pharmacy is pharmacy - all you need is a license. At least that is what has been told to myself.
