I have an interview at one of my "safety" schools next Saturday. I also have 2 interviews in the next month for schools I actually want to go to, and I have already been accepted to one school that I don't really want to go to.

I'm considering declining my interview next Saturday because I don't really want to have to drive the 4 hours to get there, but do you think it would be beneficial for me to interview there simply for practice for the other 2 schools???

I know how you feel. I was in a similar situation, but ended up really liking the school that had already accepted me. In my situation, I declined the "backup interviews" because I didn't have the extra money to travel that far so many times and I was already comfortable with my decision.

Is the drive the only thing that's keeping you from accepting the interview? Personally, I'd say go for it, especially if you've never visited it. You might end up liking it a lot in comparison to the safety school you've already been accepted to. Good luck!

I had a similar issue with one of my schools. I had no plans to attend, but went to the interview anyway for practice and ended up really liking the school. So, I agree with francium, go for it because you may end up liking it. Plus, I think the practice will make you feel much more comfortable at the interviews for your top choice schools. I know it did for me...by the time I got to my third interview, I was much more comfortable and confident. Good luck!

I was in a similar situation-got into another school that I really wanted and had an interview at my "safety" school. I decided to go to the interview anyway, just for practice for other schools. Turns out I really liked the "safety" school and I think I'll be going there instead.

Definitely go for it! Even if you don't like the school, the practice will be great.
