So what exactly am I agreeing to when I return this signed form to UIC that says "I shall register in the College of Medicine for fall 2007." It has to be sent back right away, but surely I'm not already committing to UIC and dumping my other schools, right? 😕

thanks in advance

I don't have any acceptances to worry about quite yet, but here's how I understand it to work. Until May 15, you can sign as many of those forms and pay as many deposits and therefore hold as many medical school seats as you want to. Basically, you can commit to coming to as many schools as you have acceptances, if you choose to do so. On May 15th, though, you must make a decision and withdraw your acceptance from all but 1 school, the one you intend to attend. The exception to this lies in waitlists. Even though on May 15 you must withdraw from all other acceptances, you can remain on as many waitlists as you choose. Up until the day you begin orientation at another school, you are free to accept a position from a school you are waitlisted at. Once you start orientation, though, you're committed to that school. Hope that helps, and Please someone correct me if any of that is wrong!

The beauty of SDN: only 10 minutes until a nice, concise repsonse arrives.

This is pretty much what I thought too, but I didn't find it in writing anywhere...
