Let me have the great pleasure of starting this thread of acceptance.

Stats-
NBDE I- 91(2006 Dec) Reappeared for fun and got 87🙁
NBDE II -82( 2007 May)
Toefl- cbt 286 ,Then reappeared ibt had 114, then again appeared and got 108

Lessons to learn from this please do not give the exam again and again,be satisfied with what you have.

Applied to last year -ucla,ucsf, llu, bu, umn, tufts, nyu etc etc applied to all except upenn. I wish i had applied to upenn

This year applied to TUFTS, upenn, llu, ucsf, pacific.

Interviewed last year- LLU, bu, umn,nyu, uthscsa, mich

acceptance- nyu,bu, mich

Waitlisted-llu,umn,

Rejected by me-bu,mich ( due to family reasons)

Differed admission - nyu ( thank god i dint go there)

Interviewed this year- TUFTS

Waiting for- none of the colleges, going to cancel all my other apllications, i hope this will help everyone waiting for the interview.

I had 2 years of experience as dentist back in India... No experience in usa. Had one paper presentation.. and had also included my sports.. in CV as i had played for the state Soccer team back in high school...Nothing more than that...

You never know who will call you for the interview and give you the acceptance.....Every school has its own criteria.... Nyu needs gpa over 3, umn part 1 90's,... you have amazing experience.....hang on you will be in soon.... apply to more schools to increase your chance.... Take your part 2 exam...soon and then again study for part one..... dont loose hopes there is a place in the dental school for evryone.... just do what you have to do and you will get it.... uop and nyu will call you for sure.....

First thing all you guys should , post in an another thread....you guys are taking over this imp thread, where every one will be sharing their experience of acceptance so that you guys waiting can get a good idea about the process.....

About your question.... you have a great gpa... you can do better in nbde... apply to all the schools possible... so that even if you do not get in this year you will be as a re applicant next year... apply and see what happens...... start preparing for the part one again, while you are waiting for the interview....

i got accepted last week at uic..
my stats are-
part 1-87..in feb 2008
part 2-77 got results after the interview..
usa experience- 3 months of dentl observer and assistant,
one day course in coronal polishing and sealant application conducted by illinois state dntal board..
experience in india- 6 years as a general dentist..
gpa- 2.4 by ece...
schools applied and interviewed- applied to uic in april and got interview in august..

hi..i would suggest..do not retake...you may get less than 86..even with more preparation and more corect answers...
and i also have poor gpa...but it does not matter too much..mine is 2.4..i had repeated a subject in 2nd year of dental school...in india..
people with this score have got interviews and even admissions..
just give your part 2, if you hv not yet given..and get some good reccomendation letters and some experience..you vl surely get admission..
all the best..do some courses..for 3 or 4 days..and submit them along with your application..

Do not loose hopes and go ahead apply every where possible, you will get in somewhere....

hi..tey have courses like coronal polishing and sealant application after which you can work as an expanded function dental assistant..or an xray certificate course..these are just for a day or two...it may be very helpful...to show that you are active in the field after coming here..

I would say apply even if you are late. apply to all the schools whose dead line is not over yet....

Search the sdn, i don't think anbody with score 77 in part 1 has been accepted so far in the past. But not sure though...

🙄a strong CV.... ( you haven't mentioned) clinical experience/ research/ Masters !!!!

I have been accepted in the University of Minnesota . I got a call from Janet on Friday, and got the official letter today by FEDEX.



I think i just cant stop doing the banana dance.
My stats are:
NBDE 1/2= 90/ 89 (appeared for Part2 a week after the interview, so didnt apply to any of the schools with my part 2 scores)
GPA- 3.54
TOEFL=114
Interviews attended- UMN on 10th september
Schools Accepted- UMN
i am so happy that i wont have to attend the California interviews. Good luck to everyone 👍
