So both schools I've been accepted to so far ask me to return the response form within two weeks and the only two choices are YES, I accept this offer of admission and plan to matriculate or NO, I decline at this time. Both schools are neck-and-neck for me so it comes down to the coming financial information, so I would like to hold both spots until I have that info (I'll make a decision ASAP, I promise). So...I just say "YES" to both, right? Even though they say scary things like "saying yes represents a firm committment", etc.?

Say yes to both.

You don't have to decide until May 15th, and you might want to wait that long so you can see financial aid first (comes out in March I believe).

Oh, and don't feel bad about holding multiple acceptances. Don't decide ASAP. Decide when you feel confident in your decision (as long as by May 15th of course).

That is odd that they would say that 😛 It is fairly common to hold multiple acceptances until you've received financial aid information. Personally I am holding onto all of my acceptances because I have no idea where my girlfriend is going to get into grad school, and I don't want to close doors prematurely. If you are legitimately considering a school, don't sweat it, just send in the deposit if there is one, and you'll have until May 15th* to drop all but one of them.

*May 1st for Case Western, might be earlier for other schools too.

This is my exact situation too.
