I know the AAMC doesn't allow this. But what's the rule if you matriculate (go to orientation) at one DO school and get accepted off the waitlist at another DO school. Does AACOMAS inform the school about matriculation like the AAMC does?

It happens in the Osteopathic world. People in my class year at LECOM that started on Monday have already left this week after being pulled off the waitlist at a more preferable school. AACOMAS does *not* notify schools like AMCAS does.
Yeah, in some cases that would suck for anybody on a waitlist, but I know that LECOM Erie pulled a few students off last week even after classes had already started. All depends on the school really and what their policies are. That sucks.
The truth. Just tell them that you were accepted off of the waitlist at a school that is better suited to you because of X reason(s). Trust me, they'll understand. You're better off learning and more likely to succeed when you're where you want to be, and they'll get that. Definitely don't lie about it though out of fear.guys I need to know what happens as well. What shold you tell the school as to why you are going to be leaving?
A friend was accepted to one allopathic school then a few months later he was accepted off another school from their wait list. The first school he was accepted to got word of this and called him trying to work stuff out so he would stay. I guess they are helping him move or something to persuade him not to switch. So maybe it would be better if they did tell.It happens in the Osteopathic world.
