I've never heard of this. Go out on your own and shadow a DO. Contact your advising office or go to a hospital. I'm sure you can find one DO that's willing to let you shadow.

I've heard of this but don't know the specifics. Which schools will interview you and give a pending acceptance granted that they hook you up with a DO and have you shadow and/or get a letter?

This is true regarding the VCOM schools as far as I remember from applications last year! Don't quote me on that, but I remember that being something I made sure to get. They would accept you following an invite as long as you shadowed a DO within 30 days.
