Sorry if this is a silly question. Once you send in your deposit are you contractually obligated to go to that school? I just ask because NSUCOM requires that you send in a signed letter of intent.

Ya, I believe you are contractually obligated to go and that's why if you default and don't go they get to keep your deposit. 😱

Losing the deposit hurts, but what I wondering is if you send in the money and sign the letter of intent, does that prevent you from accepting at another school?

Is there any other penalties other than losing the deposit?

Not at all.

The deposit is a "place holder".

If you want the spot, its yours. If not then they keep your money.

They just keep your money, they can't send you to jail. 😀
