Hey everyone,

I applied to a few schools that (I think) haven't been mentioned yet. I was wondering if anybody that has applied to these schools has heard anything back.

University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill - NON OTCAS
Sage Graduate School - NON OTCAS
Winston-Salem State University
Shenandoah University
University of South Dakota
University of New England
New York Institute of Technology

Any information would be great! Thanks and good luck.

Best,
Dan

I also applied to Winston-Salem. They have a soft deadline January 15 on their website and hard deadline of March 1, which is stated on Otcas.

I applied to some of the same schools. Most of the deadlines were Jan. 15 so i don't think we will hear back for a while. What are your stats dan?

I applied to USD, and haven't heard anything yet... Their deadline was just two weeks ago though.

I applied to UNE and was accepted. Have you heard anything yet?

Someone from WSSU told me over the weekend they would start reviewing early decision apps today and "the review process will continue over the next few weeks." I think we have a while to go...

lbsubstylee, did you get invited to the interview at USD? I corresponded with them all last week (about another pre-req I thought would count but didn't) but haven't heard yet about the interview... They told me last week that they should send out invites by the end of this week... I hope I haven't messed everything up by through this final basic bio prereq! 🙁

Hey there,

I received an email last Friday, the 27th, from the secretary at University of South Dakota inviting me for an interview. Unfortunately, they only conduct interviews in person, which didn't work for me. Fortunately, I was accepted to UPitt today. Personal message me if you would like the staff member's email address.

Best,
Dan

Congrats on getting in to Pitt! I was emailing them last week, so I have a contact but thank you for the offer. That is unfortunate about the interviews having to be in person.

Just spoke with someone from WSSU, applicants should hear from the admissions committee in 3-4 weeks.

Got my acceptance letter in the mail from WSSU dated 2/2

I just applied to the Sage program. I don't think I made their priority deadline (Feb 1) though. Keep us posted when you hear from the schools. Good luck!

I applied to sage too! I am from north jersey so I took a ride and visited the school. I liked it a lot and am just waiting on a response from them. Do you guys know anything about the Troy area and where some good residential areas are?

I'm from the Albany, NY area. PM me if you're interested in the Troy, NY area or surrounding suburban areas.

Dan

Just heard from WSSU yesterday as well, received an informal acceptance via email. Letters to be mailed out in the next few weeks.

USD made a mistake and told me that they wouldn't do phone interviews; however, that is only for PT students. The mistake was caught and corrected and they will be giving me a phone interview after all.

I got that email too, lbsubstylee. After I got the email for the invite to the interview, I called and asked for details and asked them if they weren't at all willing to consider phone interviews. At the time she said no but then 15 minutes later they sent out the email about being willing to consider circumstances to do a phone interview. Ultimately, I have family in Nebraska and will stay with them, drive the 2+ hours and go to the interview. USD is the only school I've applied to that requires an interview, so it's not like I have have tons of expenses to consider there, and I figure that a face to face first impression is generally better than one over the phone. Or at least I hope! 🙂 I'm also going to go check out the schools in the area since I have a kiddo and have his needs to consider as I move him around the country for this crazy endeavor.

Are you going to do the interview by phone then? I know you've been accepted elsewhere, and USD is sure in the middle of nowhere, but the OOS tuition can't be beat, not to mention a 100% NBCOT pass rate for 6 years, or something.

I'm doing the phone interview strictly for experience. I've already accepted at University of Pittsburgh. USD was definitely high up on my list. They do have the 6-year 100% pass rate on the NBCOT, but are still ranked relatively low according to US NEWS (rankings can be very subjective and influenced by interests)... I wonder if they just teach toward the exam?
