Will I get into OTD school?
I am a Junior Recreational Therapy student, graduating with a 4.0 GPA, general honors award (18 hours of honors credit), I have an Academic Excellence Scholarship, President's List every semester, graduating a year early, I've done a Warm Water Lab "clinical rotation" as a part of my major working with autism and CHARGE syndrome, I will have around 50 OT shadowing hours done in a month in a total of 2 settings, I have to have 2 clinical internships under a Recreational Therapist totaling 1000 hours of clinical experience to graduate with my degree, and I've worked at a preschool for 1 summer. I know I need more shadowing and volunteer hours but it's hard with my RT internships, do you think my RT internships will help me stand out and make up for low shadowing hours or should I still try to get more hours? Also, how can I become a more "holistic" candidate? Please help me know what I should do to enhance my application and strengthen my chances of acceptance in the next 2 months.

The hours are more then fine... you must have all the prerequisite classes; without the classes you won't be admitted. The courses are a hard prerequisite as the OT governing body requires them for the program to be certified.

I will have all the prerequisites by December, I only have physics and anatomy left. The other pre-reqs I have A's in.

What about Human Physiology... Which usually follows human anatomy in sequence, this is also a prerequisite... If you got that then awesome. Physics is not really a prerequisite, only a small handful of schools require it. Abnormal psychology above general psychology is another course that throws some people off... as the content is different. Some better schools may require Medical Terminology or a cadaver lab... you must look at the school you want to attend. The essays are a large part also. Anyway sounds like you have it under control... if you have all As and the hours, why are you even asking if you'll get in?
