I was just thinking the same thing the other day. The pre-optometry section seems a bit anti-climatic since there's no specific area for applicants to share in the joy/worry/angst of going through the app process and being accepted/rejected/waitlisted etc. I appreciate those that do post their experiences but they have to be motivated to initiate doing so on their own accord.
It would be nice if it was like the Pre-pharmacy section where there's a specific sub-section for posting application experiences with specific schools. Especially, since there's only 20 some optometry schools. Maybe there should be a specific thread or sub-section for each for school where applicants can be encouraged to post their application experiences and give insight into what the process is like at the specific schools. That might really help readers learn some inside info on a particular school. See what things they focus on. What ranges of gpas and OAT scores are being accepted for a particular cycle...etc.
I guess maybe it's a chicken and the egg type of thing. Maybe they don't feel it's necessary to set up sub-sections since there aren't that many people posting their experiences in terms of trying to get into these schools. This site seems to have one of the larger congregations of pre-optometry people. So maybe it's just simply that there's not nearly as many people applying to Opt school as Pharmacy.
