Shoutouts to everyone who posted concerning the wait time for NYCOM acceptances. Thanks to you, I was able to stop checking my mail for a couple days and enjoyed the holiday. And when I got back I had an acceptance letter waiting for me.

So, pending one or two more rejection letters I will be headed off to NYCOM this fall (class of '09!!!). Does anyone have any suggestions for what I can do in the mean time to prepare? Now that I am finished writing essays about myself I would like to use the time to get some kind of academic head start. All you ever hear is how intense all the studying is so i'm thinkin that I could use the next couple months to casually review anatomy or microbio or something like that. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

ps. Additional thanks to the NYCOM 12/2 interviewees who introduced me to SDN.

I heard from another member of this forum that any "pre-studying" before med school is total BS, and useless in terms of what you might need to know for your curriculum. Just passing it on because for some reason that stuck in my head, and personally I would live it up these last few months before life turns into a living nightmare 😀

Well, not that bad, but it'll be a bit of work 👍

here's a quote that i love... it's from DW

...Doing the "study before med school starts" in retrospect sounds like the most idiotic thing I've ever heard

it's true, it's a real nightmare.
