Hey Azusa people! Congrats to everyone on here who got accepted! I plan on applying to Azusa for the class that starts in 2015. I was wondering if you guys could tell me what you think about my chances?
I already have a bachelor's degree where I completed most, if not all (depending on the school) of my pre-requisites. However, my application was kind of weak and to make a long story short, I'm reapplying this cycle.
I'm currently a post-bac student in a pre-physical therapy program, where I'm taking a bunch of classes that will not only help my GPA, but should strengthen my application overall. For example, in my bachelor's degree I took an A&P class and got an A, but the lab for it was not a cadaver lab, as is required by one of the schools I'm applying to. I also took a human physiology course but for some reason it did not have a lab. Currently, in my post-bac program, I'm taking an intense anatomy course with a cadaver dissection lab, and a physiology course with a lab, along with many other pre-therapy courses, like neuro-anatomy with a lab.
Okay so, my cumulative GPA will be around a 3.3 after the fall semester. My pre-req GPA is around a 3.7-3.8. I have 200 observation hours in 4 different settings, including inpatient. My GRE scores are 154Q, 153V and 4.5AW. Also, my post-bac GPA is a 4.0 and it will remain this way if I have anything to say about it!!
Finally, I'm not from California. I'm actually from Ohio, but I lived in California for a year between finishing my bachelor's and starting my post-bac. My girlfriend is from Los Angeles, and we could very easily move back there if I was accepted. The only reason we came to Ohio is so I could get in-state tuition while doing my post-bac and strengthening my application (but also because change and new experiences are always good!)
So what do you guys think? I know that from looking at Azusa's page on PTCAS that they accept more instate students than out of state.
Sorry for the long post! Thanks for reading if you made it this far!
