Accepted, but noticed error on on app

Hey guys. I have a weird situation. I was accepted to a school. Yay!

I checked my AACOMAS and turns out, on one activity, I messed up years (I stated that i started an year later than actual start date, example: Put 2014 instead of 2013). This was a complete mistake. Furthermore, this volunteer activity isnt very mandatory and my hours slowly tapered off after submitting my application to the point that I dont really go volunteer anymore and focus on other things. My hours that I stated are still on point and while I gave a ballpark, I stand by my hours. I'm not trying to lie here and never meant to. I just feel a little guilty.

Should I take any action. Do schools generally check on the EC after acceptance, make calls?

Honestly, it sounds like your mistake cut yourself short...I don't think it will make a difference since a correction would only BETTER your application and you have been accepted already. I say just leave it.

RELAX, you have been accepted to med school so by definition you can't be as neurotic as a premed anymore 😉

As above. Even if your error had been the other way, and you had overestimated by a year, I would leave it be. It was an honest mistake and probably wouldn't make a big difference one way or the other. You are in. Celebrate and move on. Be more careful with future apps.

Thanks for the help guys. Still, I feel kind of bad and am considering calling. The dates were supposed to be from 2014-2015 but I put 2015-present. Both are supposed to be for one year and both are the SAME number of hours. I didnt exaggerate hours or anything, but made a mistake on the date. I feel bad and dont want to give false info. I want to call, but am afraid that they will re-evaluate and rescind. 🙁

I guess, in a way, its better because in reality, I already DID my hours but according to my app, I'm still working on them. The reality is better. haha
