accepted but prereqs not 100% complete

hi,

I have already been accepted to TUCOM-NV and am awaiting AZCOM decision. Although i have completed all my general science prereqs and then some, i was not aware that my english requirement was below the prereqs. I was suppose to have 6 credit hours of english, but according to my AACOMAS i only have 5.4. Do i need to take an english class now in order to matriculate?? any one have to face a similar problem?? thanks all and good luck to the rest of you!!!

Contact the schools.

A fair number of alternate classes can fufull your English requirement. I am using a Speech class for some schools and a Writing Intensive Communications class for others (I contacted the schools before applying and got their OK). If you don't have anything that will work, then you still have up until you matriculate to complete an English class (at your current institution or a CC, wherever)

i didn't even know there was a possibility to have 5.4 credits in a class?
I am confused now. How do they get this kind of number?
I am getting scared for this upcoming cycle...will be fun

my undergrad institution was on a quarter system and there is a wierd conversion of units from quarter to semester.

oh...pheeew...u got me really worried there for a second.
I am sure though that you can work this out.
Like the other poster said just contact the schools and try to see what you can do.
Maybe you can even take some class at night at the CC to get the req out of the way.

dont feel bad....im supposed to have 6 credits of english and according to aacomas I have 0....but 3 are definately a mistake since I took intensive writing, the other 3 I was exempted from due to my SAT and I am in the process of trying to get CCOM to waive that requirement for me (KCUMB did it for me!)

Didn't they make your acceptance contingent on completing the prereq classes? I haven't finished orgo yet and so my acceptances are contingent upon the completion of that. They even put it in my acceptance letter. I would definitely call the school and check.😀
