Hey everyone, I'm hoping this thread will be helpful for those of us who will be attending Howard in the fall (2009). I'm pretty sure most everyone is in the same boat looking for housing and roomates, figuring out financial aid, etc etc. So post stats and what you're looking for.

Have you started to look for housing yet? I have been trying but its kinda difficult to find something really close. Are you having the same problem?

Hey class of 2013. I can't wait to get to DC. I've been looking for houses since I found out I had an interview. Make sure you check out this site apartmentratings.com when you find an apartment your interested in.

I've been looking for housing and yes its really hard to find something nice and affordable. I've been using apartmentratings.com and it really helps. Looks like housing is cheaper in VA. I plan to take the metro to school since i hear parking is horrible......and I cant parallel park! lol yes i know pathetic but i'm from miami so its not a requirement down here!

Flower, I dont know about taking the metro to DC every morning. That will get old real fast. especially when its 12 degrees. Think about the east towers its across the street from howard. They are kinda like apartments owned by the school. Thats where most of the med school students live and graduate students. I cant even imagine taking the metro every day. All the politicians live in VA, so the metro is stacked in the morning on the way into DC. Then you will have to walk up Georgia Ave every morning cuz the closest station is like 8 blocks away. Nah I cant see it. Plus Howard is really family oriented, if you get up there and say i need an apartment, People will be coming out the woodwork to give you a spot. Check craigslist.com too I graduated from howard in 2005, International business. (Cant believe they are keeping me waiting for an acceptance letter lol:xf:) I live in miramar, what part of miami are you in.

Does anyone know what type of laptop we are getting for 2500.00?

Yeah I was wondering that also...2500 is a lot. I asked one of the students when I interviewed and she said that they got a tablet pc. I think the 2500.00 includes insurance on it and everything also because she said hers was stolen and she was able to get it replaced

I was thinking of living on campus, but I have been told that they enforce the same rules in the apartments for grad students as they do for undergrad. Is that true?
