So I got accepted into FIU's DPT program and I'm not all too familiar with the Miami area. Where are the best places for students to stay that are reasonably close to the campus? I'm not picky, but I do want to be safe : )

CONGRATS on your acceptance to FIU! that's gotta be the best feeling.

I have an interview at FIU in 2 weeks and was wondering if you would mind sharing some tips or bits of advice? maybe interview questions they may have asked you? anything that caught you off guard?

Thanks a ton 🙂

Thanks, CONGRATS ON YOUR INTERVIEW! I went to an early interview so my experience was really laid back. The facilities are nice and new. They didn't ask anything too out of the blue. They ask you things about yourself; why you want to be a PT; in groups, do you assume a leader or follower role; name a situation where you had to......; they might ask you about your volunteering/working experience with PT. That's about all I remember. Everyone I talked to was nice and open to questions. Just relax, be yourself, and you should do well. GOOD LUCK!!!

Mine was on Feb. 11. Congratulations on getting in! My interview went very well and I think I made a good impression. I hope I hear back soon!!

those of you that have received interviews, do you mind sharing your stats. I plan on applying for the next cycle and just wanted to see where I stand.

Check out the Kendall area Close enough to school and nice Also does FIU have grad housing? may be worthwhile until you either know the area or meet someone in the program you want to live with. Also try to use a licensed realtor there have been rental scams on Miami craigslist

Hey! I have been accepted as well and have decided to attend. I live in Boca Raton about an hour away from the campus and am probably going to move close to campus and am looking for a roomate as well. Send me an email if you get this at [email protected]. Congrats on the Acceptance!

I spoke to one of the students that interview me and he said that Vista Verde was where all of the grad students basically lived. That's where I will be living this fall! Congrats on your acceptance and I'm looking forward to meeting all of you!

Has anyone that interviewed on Feb. 11 received a decision yet?

No, I also interviewed at FIU on Feb. 11 and have not heard anything yet.

I'm hoping that we hear something soon...

Could you give an estimate of what FIU's program costs for the three years? The breakdown online is a little confusing for me. I am a florida resident as well.
