I interviewed at Lecom( Erie) on 12/19 and they put me on a waiting list. Is anybody accepted off a waiting list? There is no hope, right? I have another two interviews in mid-Jan, but it's so discouraging for me to go there.

I know of 3 students personally that have been accepted after being put on the waiting list... but not at that specific school. I'm very sure that people get pulled off the waiting list for every school... since not everybody that gets accepted decides to go... people usually apply to a few schools (get accepted to some, and then pick which one they rather go to... so more spots open up).

DON'T BE DISCOURAGED! You have 2 other interviews! When you get an interview, that means you are GOOD enough!

I applied to 3 schools this year.... got placed on waiting list for the first...but got accepted to the other 2.

GOOD LUCK! :luck:

I got wait llisted at South Univ. 😕 but i still have 5 other interviews. does any1 kno any reason why they would wait list after an interview? maybe i made a fool out of myself?

I also interviewed at South U and while I was there I spoke to some of the current students about being accepted, waitlisted, denied etc. They told me that b/c South does rolling admissions and it is still early in the application cycle they often waitlist people to wait and see how strong some of the later applicants are going to be. The girl I was speaking to said that she was admitted this way and she says many people are.

It is my impression that everyone who is good enough to be acccepted is interviewed and then after the interview the top applicants are admitted immediately, the ones that arent good enough are denied and the ones that probably are good enough to be accepted are deferred or waitlisted.

I would not worry because they did call you for an interview so clearly you were good enough to make it that far. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them because I also interviewed there.

Best of Luck!

Yeah I was placed on a waiting list last year and the unthinkable happened. The day before school started for the college of pharmacy, I received a call that there was an opening and was offered it. Of course, I took it. Don't give up because you have (literally) until the first day of class before there's a definite no. Anything could happen: someone could decide to go to another college, sometimes students will fail courses needed as a pre-req, and also some won't be able to afford the deposit to hold their place in the class. By all means, DON'T GIVE UP!!

thanks for all your encouragements. I'll try my best 2 other interviews.

I'm on four waitlist right now from early interviews. Everywhere that I interviewed, the current students said anywhere from about 20-35% of the class was called off the waitlist. Mainly because accepted students hold the first seat they get, then often give it up when they get accepted somewhere else they would rather go. I know it's super discouraging, but a waitlist is better than a no. Your still in the game. The thing that really sucks about it is that none of the schools would give me feedback about my interview that I could use to improve for future interviews.

there is always hope!

my cousin's girlfriend got waitlisted at touro college of medicine in nevada...although she got accepted at LECOM, she was persisent in making herself heard--she got accepted and is now in her 2nd year there
