Hey Guys,
I have been reading the forums a lot over the past few weeks and decided to post my scenario. I graduated undergrad in 2010 at UCF(University of Central Florida) with roughly a 3.375 overall GPA majoring in Accounting, however I know that GPA will probably be a little lower once it is processed through the medical school GPA calculator. After that I went to work for a local bank and later a couple CPA firms while studying for my masters also at UCF. I now have only one class left to finish my masters in Accounting and currently have a 3.4 GPA in the program.
After working at the CPA firms I realized that I am not passionate about accounting. I have always been enamored by medicine and have done some shadowing, but will definitely do more in the future. I originally took Chem 1 my freshman year and failed it due to a death in the family and retook it the next semester and received a B. I was 18 and a bit naive about the amount of dedication needed to succeed in the sciences. I will not be working during my time back to school to complete my pre-reqs.
The classes I am currently signed up for the spring semester are Tax Planning (to complete the masters and not look like a quitter lol) Chemistry 1 again (as a refresher and to improve my sGPA as I know DO schools, which I am not at all opposed to, take the highest replacement) and Trig (needed for Physics). I know I need to get an A in Chem. But does Trig count into my science GPA. I was also wondering if Algebra, Stat, Psych, and sociology are included all of which I received A's in. Also the only hard science I have taken in college is the Chem 1.
Thanks for all the help and any advice is greatly appreciated.
