My situation is decently unique, however I think this forum is my best way to get an explanation.

Recently, I have applied to programs as many have. For certain programs I have physicians that actually were willing to email coordinators and directors in my favor. One of these coordinators emailed the physician back stating that I do not meet their criteria, both academic and accreditation wise...

I do understand the academic aspect of not meeting their criteria, however, the accreditation has me worried. If this program is talking about accreditation...maybe all of the programs I have applied to will not offer me an interview because of this "accreditation" issue.

I would love any and all feedback I can get, especially from any program directors we might have on this great forum.

Brief hx about me:
I attended MUL in Poland then transferred to AUSOM
Passed Step 1 (209)
Finished clinicals in Arizona and graduated in December 2015
Was working post graduation at family business due to health issues with father
Passed Step2 CS in 2016, Passed CK on third attempt (228)
ECFMG certified in 2017
Passed Step 3 (204) 2018
Currently 40+ hours in Observer-ships every week and weekend

Although I can't be certain AUSOM (Atlantic Univ in St Lucia) was found to be untruthful with the ECFMG. I believe the issue was with distance learning -- that some classes were held over the internet. It was de-certified by the ECFMG in 2017. Theoretically, anyone who gracuated between 2010-2017 is ECFMG certified and should be "fine". Realistically, programs think that these problems may have been present earlier and don't want to consider students from this school, since it looks like a problem.

Thank you for replying! I should have been more specific. I understand that AUSOM is Altantic University in St. Lucia, however I was talking about Avalon University School of Medicine. I do understand that Atlantic Univ has bad standing.

Ahh. My only other thought has to do with California list of approved medical schools. Cali maintains a list of approved, and disapproved schools. Avalon / Xavier doesn't appear on either, and that might be a problem in Cali and elsewhere. The Cali list is going away sometime in the future, but several states still follow the Cali list.

oh okay, I was assuming that but I needed some closure. Thank you!
