It is a much better gig if you are thinking leaving retail. There are some clinical aspects on patient consultation, payor trouble shooting, and benefit investigation issue and customer service issues.
Also, specialty pharmacy is set to explode in the next five years. If you work for them now, you will be in position for something better in a few years if you are ambitious. You can easily be a director for hospitals who attempt to get URAC accreditation.
