Hello,

I'm a UT-licensed psychologist seeking to accrue post-doc hours so I can apply to jobs in other states (such as IL).

If I'm already licensed, can I still gather post-doc hours as a licensed psychologist?
Because if I'm being supervised by another licensed psychologist, that means I'm not using my license (but I am for my job).
I hope that makes sense...

Also, for those who have similar experience, what are the documents that I need to gather?
I know my supervisor needs to evaluate me, but is there a particular form to use for that and to document everything?
Not sure what exactly I need to be doing in terms of paperwork.

Any advice would be appreciated!!

It makes sense, but you're really want to clarify with the IL board if they will count out of state experience as postdoc experience (even if you're being supervised by an UT/IL psychologist). They will likely be able to tell you what forms you need.
I say this every time but always get everything from the Board in writing too!

I wonder if one of the credential banks could answer your question. Maybe contact CPQ/ASPPB or NRHSP.
I actually asked this question to both of them, and they both said yes, you can get supervised hours while licensed.

I also actually did the National Register credential, and they can see when I got licensed and when my postdoc hours were complete, and this was approved.

It was something I was pretty concerned about initially.
