I'm trying to figure out if it's worth flying to San Fran for the ACEP student activities they have before the meeting. I can only attend over the weekend so wouldn't be able to attend much of the meeting but could be around for the student seminars and residency fair on Saturday. Anybody been to this? Is it worth the $$?

Absolutely. It's bigger than the one at SAEM and a great place to meet PDs from around the country. Plus, the info they give out at the student forum the morning of the fair is great. It's the same every year... but it's good to hear it once.

Hey guys and gals,
Just curious if anyone knows if registration is required to attend just the residency fair the 16th of October? I checked with the EMRA site. It stated that the fair is free? However, I am not sure if registration for students ($85) is required. If anyone can shed some light onto here, that would be grrreat.

anyone else know that if we want to just attend the events on sat oct 16: the medical student forum and residency fair, do we have to register & pay for the entire event/? Im a medical student.

it's free. don't register. just go. pay the registration fee if you want to go to anything OTHER than the med student stuff.

I went in seattle a few years ago, got some info, but there are so many people and the PD's probably don't remember you. Maybe stop by the top 5 programs you are interested in, make contact, have a CV you can give them and state that you are interested and hope to see them on the interview trail. I havent heard of one person who said they got into a place becasue of going the the residency fair. And you will need that money for the trail.
