Acetal classification

According to Wiki and my review book, that is an acetal, am I correct in saying that it is NOT an acetal due to the 2 H on the carbon bonded to the 2 -OR groups

i though an acetal WAS a carbon bonded to two OR groups, this carbon is bonded to two OR groups, even though they are connected they are still classified as two OR groups.

2. yes that is an acetal.

An acetal is a carbon with TWO bonds of alkoxides. You can clearly see that at the carbon at the tip top of the pentagon has 2 alkoxide bonds attached to it.

Clarification: I see the carbon between the two oxygen's satisfies the two -OR groups. My question was: if the R3 and R4 are both H then is it still a acetal? Based on both of your answers I guess that a yes.

hmm ok, ya i see your point, and actually have no idea, i thought the only thing was that it has to be bonded to two OR groups, but i guess there could be a caveat to this. anybody have any idea?

id go with acetal, there's no reason why just bc it has two hydrogens it shouldnt be an acetal.
