ACGME to AOA?

I have done an extensive search and cannot find the answer.

Does anyone know the logistics, other than having to repeat essentially every year of residency completed (if intern year is not approved) of transferring from an ACGME program to an AOA program (or deciding not renew the ACGME contract next year and apply AOA this year)?

I would appreciate hearing about anyone who has done this or looked into it and knows.
