really hope I get accepted here. Based on the interview it seem the school and staff are 100% behind their MSB program and would not hesitate to take their own.
 
Hey guys! Hopefully I'll be able to join y'all! I have my Skype interview for the MSB program tomorrow. Any tips/advice??

The ACHE program seems to have the added benefit of being able to take a class alongside OMS1 students. Plus it's a little cheaper. The only downside I see is it not being AS established as KCU which may mean some administrative issues and whatnot. I'd still probably lean towards this program.
 
yep, that's exactly how I feel so it look like I will be attending ACHE and save 27k tuition lol
 
Is anyone planning to have roommate? I’m tempted to get a roommate but worry about it this roommate were to leave the program due to personal issue then I would end up paying a whole lot more for a room than saving.

FWIW I feel like a lot of med students recommend living on your own for at least the first year but I understand if the roommate is for financial reasons.

Also depending on where you live and the kind of lease you sign, you guys might be individually responsible for the rent so he'd be on the hook even if he left the program.
 
We are guarantee an interview if we complete the program with B and up. Anatomy course can be waived if we complete the course with a B. Base of the interview the school is fully behind the program and will most likely admit their MSB students if they meet all requirement for their COM.
 
What requirements for the COM? I only see that they prefer a 3.4+ gpa. What’s the mcat and gpa avgs from previous years?
I have an acceptance to Touro Middletown with guaranteed admission to the med school with a 3.45. This program seems risky
 
It is a brand new program, if you have a school with guaranteed admission I would recommend go for it. There isn’t much information on the linkage for this program beside the guaranteed interview and not having to retake anatomy if you are accepted to the COM. Base on my interview it look like a 500 MCAT and a B grade from the program will get you a decent chance to get accepted to the COM.
 
Also, if you didn’t know this year is it’s inaugural class for the MSB program so there is no data available.

Did you get a vibe that this program will have a strong linkage?
 
Base on my interview and the response with my interviewers I feel like this program have a strong linkage since we will be taking anatomy along side with first year students. Also, if we get a B or higher anatomy will be waived if we we attend the COM.
 
Hiya! I'm on the search for 1-2 (ideally female) roommates with a budget ranging from $600-800. I have found a couple very nice properties that I am interested in that are close to school in very safe areas. Please message me if interested!

We just finished up the semester. Be prepared to study every day and every time you have free time. The anatomy class is taken alongside the med students. Med school anatomy is challenging but doable. If you study the slides and go into the lab to study the bodies, you will be fine. The medical biochemistry class is pretty similar to the med school becom class. We get the same presentations as them with the same material for most of the class. The exams are challenging, but not too terrible. The professors definitely made this a hard program for a reason. If you can do well in the program, you will do well in med school. So far, everyone from the program that has interviewed (17) for the med school has gotten accepted. You must get a 70 in the class to pass, or else you will have to withdraw. You must pass all classes in order to graduate.

Awesome! So you just have to get a 70 in each class to be a accepted into the new school? How do they decide who

Each applicant is reviewed in a holistic way. It appears as if the people with Bs or better have gotten interviews. I would aim for an 80 or higher in each class. If you fall below an 80, you will be considered moderate academic risk. If you are at moderate academic risk, the school can prohibit you from extracurricular activities.
 
Just scheduled my interview here. Is anyone able to provide insight into any kind of recommended preparation/potential questions?
 
Does anyone if there is a Facebook group or if there is a thread for 2020-2021 applicants? I have a lot of questions about this program and wanted to ask students who graduated from it this year. Thank you so much!

Could any current/former students say if they needed all the books in the MSB booklist or not? I know the anatomy lab for instance has six books listed and wasn't sure if I needed to get all of them or not. I don't mind getting all the books if they will help but I don't want to waste the money if they are never used in the class. I was going to wait for the syllabus to find out but we don't get those until orientation.

Save your money on the textbooks. The library has hard copies you can check out. You can access the textbooks via online thru the library.
