Not sure if this has been asked before.. but is #40 wrong?

seems.. like they were trying to find the perpendicular bisector, but miscalculated the negative reciprocal...

Also.. anyone think this QR was a lot harder than the others?

Thanks!

i didn't take this test but i just did the problem and got A. If you look at the slope of the segment that joins the 2 points (by taking rise over run) you get 4/8 or 1/2....so the neg reciprocal is -2. Therefore, the slope intercept equation must be y = -2x + b.

Right there you can eliminate all choices except A. Just to double check, the midpoint of the segment is at (5,3). Choice A gives you y + 2x = 13, and 2 + 2(5) = 13

Thanks man

I figured it out, but it looks like the work in the solutions is wrong.

when i was doing it. i went straight for the slope without getting an intercept, thinking i would be able to find a basic equation. just strategizing for when i run out of time. lol

but yeah..

QR1: 23
QR2: 25
QR3: 21

hm.... shrugs.

how comparable is achiever to the actual test? seems like there should be more trig.. or something.

actual qr is pretty easy although i was really out of it when i got to that point...i was scoring really well on practice tests but then only a 20 on the real deal. nothing was hard, easy trig, easy pythag problems easy algebra, easy probability...time is your only enemy. you'll be fine with scores like those. i scored 22 on QR1 achiever. just keep a clear head and you will kill it.

i did have one st dev problem on my test though

haha.. now its a matter of if my TS will be bearable to look at or not...

sighhhh
