I'm going to trash Achiever every chance I get because it's complete rubbish. I can see how they can screw up every single science section, math, RC, and most of PAT but cubes?

I'm referring to these cube problems here and there where there is no way of telling if there is a cube on the lowest level or a blank space. It's not an illusion like CDP; illusions actually make sense and can be solved. It's just really sloppy and ambiguous. In these problems there are NO visual cues to help you decide. There can be a cube there or there can be nothing there. And each time you see it you have to guess bc sometimes the answer has a cube on the lower level and sometimes it doesn't. I've done about 20 PAT test so I'm reasonably sure I know cubes by now. On the chance that anybody who has DONE achiever PAT can clue me in if there is something I'm not getting, I would be grateful.

Sorry for the rant. Achiever the week of the DAT is suuucch a bad idea (not bc its hard, bc it's crap). I knew that going in and I didn't listen to other SDNers....sigh.

Went through some CDP tests to see if I could find any similar for reference. Here are two examples of what I mean.

Achiever: PAT test 2. #66

CDP: PAT test 7: #61

In both cases there are no cubes resting atop cube in question (on lowest level). But Achiever assumes there is a cube there. CDP does not. Does anybody know who is right?

are to talking about the one that would be in the left corner behind that lone 5 sided cube?

that's the only one where I can see some confusion of is it there or not.

Anyhow if that's the example then let me say you will NOT encounter a single ambiguous cube counting problem on the actual test.

hell the figure you are looking at has way too many blocks. that thing has 30+ cubes you will generally see around 20-25 at most.

take a look at the free ada sample exam on their website. You are gonna pretty much get something like that. If you can do it then you're fine move on from cubes.

I wouldn't sweat it. I heard there are no crazy cubes on the real DAT. All straightforward and easier than CDP. Don't waste your time on these.

Good enough for me. Thanks for replies. I'm just stressed cause I struggle with PAT. Cubes is all I have and now Achiever is trying to take that away from me:laugh:

Dude, Achiever kicks your balls so many times, that after a while it stops hurting.

You'll begin to wonder if you've ever had any to begin with.

Is that supposed to be a good or comforting thing? lol
