Okay, I know that the PAT on achiever is supposed to be difficult but I just took my first achiever PAT exam and got *drumroll* a 16 😱

I'm just so sad 🙁 PAT doesn't come easily to me unfortunately but I'm trying really hard, practicing with CDP everyday. Anyone else do as terribly as me on the achiever pat? 😛

Lol! It makes me feel a bit better to know that there are other lost PAT souls like me XD Do you find that the achiever pat has improved your technique since you did a test last week?

Just keep practicing. Achiever will make the actual thing seem like CAKE, especially for TFE, keyhole, and pattern folding.

Okay, thanks a lot DrRoyal Pains for the motivation. I will keep at it! Just got a little demoralized for a bit lol 🙂

Okay, thanks for your help Eugeniager, and good luck!

Edit: I was averaging about a 19 on CDP, not great 😳 How about you?

Same here so we both need lots and lots more practice my highest (and only score) was 20 but I am planning to do CDP a second round some time

Don't worry. I was getting 16-18 on Achiever PAT, it just really helps prepare for the worst case scenario and you will score higher on the real thing.

Scored a 15 on my first Achiever PAT test. Missed every single keyhole. Scored a 21 on the real thing. Just keep practicing. The real test isn't nearly as hard as Achiever.

My issue with PAT is the timing. I took a practice test on crack dat this morning, and I made a 16. I had to guess on the last 32 questions because I ran out of time. How did you improve your timing?

I'm not sure if you were asking me or someone else on the thread but I'll answer anyway. You just need to keep practicing to increase your speed. The first CDP test I took, I used two hours and I got an 18 lol 😛 So I started practicing individual sections daily. Increasing your speed on hole punching, cube counting, and angle ranking will help you spend more time on TFE/Key Holes/Pattern Folding. Also if you are new to this, it might help to do the first 3-4 CDP tests untimed just to learn how to approach the problems. As you get more comfortable with the questions, your speed will increase. Then you can try achiever and get crushed like me 😛 ( jk lol) Good luck 🙂

Thank you for the advice

I agree..increasing speed with angles and hole punches helped me tremendously to save some extra time for other sections. Now that I am practicing I have enough time to get through the test

How do you increase speed through punches? I have been doing LOS and I average at about 100 secs/question. I guess I should keep practicing....

Hey so I was in the same situation as you, took my first CDP and got a 17. Wasted way too much time on holepunching and TFE. I was using tictactoe method and TFE I was drawing on my paper the "invisible/divisble" lines.
So my strategy was to review my questions mentally in my head, looked over all my mistakes. Then took another CDP. Got a 20.
This time around, my whiteboard only has 2 lines filled with stuff. I mentally folded all the hold punches and kept track of the lines in my head. I don't know why, but this saved me a ton of time and not to mention improved my mental reasoning for PAT.
I still sucked at angles though D: CDP tests so far, 17/20/19/20. I did a Kaplan midterm the other day and got a 21.

do you draw the grids before the test? draw 20 or so grids before you start the test and so that you don't waste time drawing them as you are doing hole punch section + draw about 20 just in case you mess up

once you will get the los method down (took me a little while) you will see the improvement.

try to do a couple hole punching sections without time

Yah. Achiever PAT is killing me. I thought Bootcamp PAT was hard until I bought and tried these. The WORST ones are the pattern folds where you need to re-assemble a cylinder of some sort. And the ones that look they have been through a paper shredder.

Im actually really frustrated. Angle ranking in all programs is killing me. I've literally been working on it for two months now and zero improvement. I'm ready to call it a day regarding that section. At least I can whiz through it to buy me time. I got an 18 on my most recent Achiever test, 20+ in CDP, and 19-20's in Bootcamp.
