Hi all,
So I'm scheduled to take the DAT in a week, and I just started doing practice tests. I did average on the sciences, which I have read is much harder, but my question is how does the achiever's QR, RC, and PAT compare to the real DAT? My scores on the first 3 (1-3)achievers for QR, RC, and PAT follow

QR 18, 19, 20
RC 15, 18, 16
PAT 18, 18, 18

I've seen no improvement in PAT, and this is worrying me...also RC...I've doing 20+ on CDR, but not so hot here. I hope the QR isn't harder than this, but hopefully some of you DAT vets who took it within the last year can put my fears to rest...thanks in advance.

You are in good shape. My QRs were 21, 21, and 23 and I got a 20 on the actual DAT (that surprised me, I think I made careless mistakes) but I'm sure you'll score 20+. My RC was 15, 16, and 15 and I ended up with a 24 on the real thing. The RC on Achiever is ridiculous, especially the passage on the nervous system. The real thing is SO much easier. And PAT, I got 17, 18, and 18, and ended up with a 21, so I'm sure you'll get 20+ as well.

Agreed

I only used Achiever for PAT two weeks before my test. I averaged a little over a 17 and my highest ever was an 18. I got a 20 on the real PAT. I think you're in good shape!

Thank you guys, appreciate the answers. Yes, the nervous system passage was the most painful thing I've read...I do hope Funky Chicken is joking lol.

I'm pretty sure he is.

Just develop a strategy that works best for you. For me, I'd make a list of the number of paragraphs there were, and write down a key phrase for each one, and then refer back to my outline when doing the questions to know where I needed to re-read/search for the specifics, but still had a feel of the overall tone of the passage.

Hi all,
? My scores on the first 3 (1-3)achievers for QR, RC, and PAT follow

QR 18, 19, 20
RC 15, 18, 16
PAT 18, 18, 18

My scores were very similar to yours, except you're improving QR more than I did. I got a 20 on QR, 21 RC, and 20 PAT FWIW.

Achiever is notoriously difficult, just learn from your mistakes and don't get down on yourself. The RC especially is exceedingly laborious on Achiever, but they do prepare you for those: Statement X and Statement Y. X is true because blah blah, Y is false because blah blah...questions.

You are in good shape for the real deal.
