Acid Weating Down Enamel....?

im not askin for dental advice...so dont lock my thread! lol

ok so you know how acid wears down enamel...like soda and that not so good for you artificial juice drink etc etc....what about the real juices that contain citric acid? im use to thinking those juices are good for you ...but can or does citric acid wear down teeth enamel as well??

Simple answer is yes. Anything that is acidic will wear the enamel. That's why you shouldn't suck on oranges or lemons. Bad for you.
 
Short version, in moderation its not a big deal, if you're sipping them all day long, they can be a big deal.

What I advise my patients is for them to eat/drink whatever they want at meal and/or snack time(6 "food events" per day max). But in between those times, nothing but calorie free non carbonated beverages or sugar free chewing gum. You stick to that plan and your body can typically repair the damage that your appetite can do to your teeth.
