This message came up when trying to rank a transitional year associated with an advanced position. (Program X keeps 4 spots at Hospital Y for their advanced residents to do transitional years.)

The program code for this transitional year is only listed when searching for transitional years on the supplemental list, but does not come up when searched for through the primary ROL.

Sigh. Google search yields nothing.

Not sure what you're asking. If the TY spots are reserved for people matching into the advanced program, you will only be able to rank that program on your supplemental list associated with that program. Otherwise, the system will prevent you from ranking the slots, as you can only get them if you match in the advanced program. Is that what you're asking?

I was having trouble adding the TY program to the supplemental list for the associated advanced program.

The NRMP guys finally called me back though, so now its sorted. Thanks!

So there may be 2 different program codes for a tranitional year? One program I applied to said they are reserving spots for their advaced positions and I believe there may be 2 codes since they have significantly less spots listed than I thought were available. But when I search in the main search and the supplimental search, I only get 1 program?? Is certain way to pull up that code?

nevermind, I figured it out.
