There are several programs that require ACLS cert before applying, how is everyone going about this considering we are in the middle of 3rd year rotations at the moment.
How did your school let you get to your first rotation without passing ACLS?There are several programs that require ACLS cert before applying, how is everyone going about this considering we are in the middle of 3rd year rotations at the moment.
Yeah, I am really confused that your school/hospitals allow you to rotate anywhere without ACLS.There are several programs that require ACLS cert before applying, how is everyone going about this considering we are in the middle of 3rd year rotations at the moment.
I don't really get why some programs would require ACLS to rotate at all. Are they letting students run codes by themselves? And if the student needs ACLS, then why aren't they requiring PALS and ATLS as well? IDK, I mean I think its important for students to learn the basics of ACLS for their rotation or on their rotation, but I don't think sitting through the merit badge course should be necessary at all to rotate in an ED.

And of course those are the programs I’m interested in. Thankfully, I only found 2 programs on VSAS that actually required ACLS to rotate... and I looked at a lot of programs.
