Hi! I noticed that a lot of residencies require you to have Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification (ACLS). Do residency programs normally pay for that or do you have to get that training in advance? When would you recommend someone take that class?

IDK about the other schools, but @ OCPM you take it at the end of 2nd year & again in 4th year. There's no extra charge, it is paid out of your tuition. As far as residency, most will train you at the hospital (as far as I know)

The schools all cert you before you begin clinics... might have to buy the book, but the class in incl in tuition.

You residency will also almost surely provide the book + class to re-cert you. Mine did, and I'd assume they all have to provide it since it's a req to work there.
