Hey everyone, really struggling to decide on which of these schools to attend. Hoping to hear some other opinions on which to choose!

I prefer a larger city but currently that isn't exactly in the cards for me. I'm a Florida native and see myself staying in the south as well, but if LECOM or WVSOM would put me in a better position professionally then I should seriously consider those options. My gut is telling me ACOM but I'm still not 100% sure.

Here are just few of my thoughts on the 3 schools, WVSOM I have not researched as deeply as the other two.

ACOM

Pros:
  • Seems very welcoming
  • Newer facilities
  • Students seem happier based on what I've read on SDN
  • less strict classroom policies (dress code, water, etc)
  • On-campus housing
  • Only about an hour and a half to PCB
  • Lecture based
  • Closest to home - about 5 hr drive
Cons:
  • Smaller town but larger than the other options - 70k
  • Not as well established as LECOM as far as rotations
  • Dothan just seems like a really boring place to live
  • Tuition: 55k

LECOM

Pros:
  • More well connected
  • Close to big city (Pittsburg)
  • Tuition: 35k
Cons:
  • Very small town - 14k
  • PBL - don't think it would suit my learning style
  • No water or food at all allowed in classrooms
  • Strict dress code
  • Has seemed very disorganized during the zoom session, from what I've read on here, and communication with applicants (took 4 months from interview to decision). The other schools had quick turnaround times of 1 week and an overall more structured timeline for decisions. Obviously the other schools receive less applicants so it makes that easier, just something to think about.
  • Cold af winters ( I'm a Florida guy)

WVSOM

Pros:
  • Very homey feel to the campus, faculty
  • Pretty decent matches
  • Beautiful campus

Cons:
  • Extremely small town: 4k
  • Cold winters
