I liked both schools when I interviewed. I'm from Chicago, so both are far from home. I'm also married with a baby, and my husband will be working to support our family. I am worried about job opportunities in Dothan since it's a small city, but I'm also unsure of job opportunities in Jonesboro. I liked that I wouldn't have to move around so much for rotations with both schools since they have core sites. I'd also ideally like to specialize, not sure about which specialty. But, I'm considering surgery or cardiology or emergency med.

ACOM

Pros:
- Great sim lab
- Some opportunities for research
- Have family at one of the core rotation sites in FL

Cons:
- Newer school, weaker alumni base
- COMLEX scores pass rate is lower than I'd like
- 60% mandatory attendance
- Far from everything
- No scholarships

NYITCOM A-State

Pros:
- More established program
- Opportunity for the partnership with Baptist Healthcare for rotations
- Close to a large city (Memphis)
- More opportunities for research
- Opportunity for scholarship

Cons:
- No residency match data yet for Jonesboro campus
- Strong emphasis on the delta region
- No family or friends nearby

I would choose ACOM because better rotation sites, good match list and GME development

NYIT-Jonesboro is not that great because they're very restricted in Arkansas due to not being supported by the state (all support from the state goes to UAMS and ARCOM), which means very subpar clinical rotations in Arkansas and no GME affiliation or development. Also, they had a very abysmal COMLEX pass rate, albeit boards is more on the individual than their school.

Edit: Also NYIT-AR is the newer school without a graduating class yet. ACOM has graduated 2 classes already with very solid match list.

I have crossed out the things that will have next to zero impact on your actual education. Also keep in mind, that you want to have a support system near by. Those scholarships will be rounding errors at the end of the day unless they are greater than 10k per year.

Do you know where I can find information about the clinical rotations for the Jonesboro campus?

You could try asking current students, but I don't have complete list. Also couldn't find anything on their website for the AR campus rotation sites.

I stalk their IG page, and I saw they posted this during their Hospital day this month

Drew Memorial
Conway regional
NEA Baptist memorial
St. Benards Health
Jefferson Regional
Willis Knighton Health
Baxter Regional
AR heart Hospital (probably only for elective because it's a specialty Hospital)

Avoid that school like the plague. It's a money grab from the more established sister school, but the AR campus has literally none of the resources of the NY one. The state doesn't want them there, and their rotation sites are weak. The few auditioners I've met from this school at our programs have all been pretty weak compared to others.

ACOM is a pretty decent school. I would choose them over NYIT-AR and not even blink twice. We have a handful of ACOM grads in our residencies, and I've met some auditioning and they are solid all around because of the established clinical training at ACOM.

It will be interesting to see what their match list looks like for the inaugural class in March/April next year.

Where did you see this data? I've recently been admitted and I have not seen abysmal COMLEX scores

They never posted separate data for the Jonesboro campus, so no one would know. The inaugural class pass rate was in the 70s. The class after that also had a low pass rate. They may have gotten better now, but I know because friend of mine goes there, and I attend ARCOM which is 2 hours away. Even faculty at my school knows about it because they always praise how ARCOM did better than NYIT-Jonesboro and other new schools by having 85% pass rate for our inaugural class.
