So are you severely handicapped if you go to a school with a preceptor based rotation system? Most of the DO schools I've seen have that setup[emoji51] KCU is my #1 but I better go look at their rotations in comparison to ACOM in that sense.
No not in some cases, I believe ACOM does a pretty good job since its been training medical students for years. However, one will still be lacking in terms of how to function with residents. Coming from a DO school, audition rotations are pushed a lot more and that this is your chance you show the program you like you can work with their residents. It can lead to your downfall if you are slow on the uptake as to how to function as a resident. Audition rotations is not a time to play catch up, but a time to impress the programs you want to go to.
