ACP, Anybody?

When I interviewed down at Tulane, I talked to someone who had gone through the ACP program and another person whose friends had gone through it. I guess they have about 12 people in each entering class who went through the ACP program the previous year. It sounds like they spend the extra year working on one of Tulane's MPH programs (like tropical medicine). They all loved it and recommended it to me should I end up being waitlisted at Tulane (yep, I'm still on that list as well as three others). Hopefully we will hear back soon with an acceptance. I could use an acceptance instead of another waitlist.Fusion said:

I think they really pitch it to you there as a just in case scenario. To emgirl, I know you have to reapply to med school in general cuz this is not an enrollment in med school, it's just a program that helps your med school app. They send out a letter to designated schools after the first semester in December, plenty of time to use for the current application cycle. Hope to see y'all in NOLA in Aug!

I also recently applied to the ACP. I'm freakin' dying over here! Does anybody know the stats of the program? Competitiveness? How many applied and how many get accepted? Also, if you do get in, you only have a month to find a place to live....any suggestions? Good luck to everyone.
they said in past years, around 50 people apply, with 12 or 13 acceptances. You can either get waitlisted, accepted, or rejected. I am hoping for either an acceptance, or rejection, as I don't think I could handle another waitlist. Good luck.

I called and Shanon gave me the news. Unfortunately I was rejected, but for me that is better than another waitlist. It looks like I will still be heading down to N.O. for the Cell and Mol Bio program that I have already been accepted to. Good luck to all.

I am going to talk to the Dean tommorow...check the "georgetown advantage" thread that I started...but keep in touch if you do the CMB program at Tulane. I would love to know someone in the program as I am in New Orleans now and am pretty lonely. School doesn't start til Aug 31st! I am ready to go and kick some butt!!

yeah i decided to call Shannon and she informed me that im on their waitlist...i shouldnt even expect anything different by now...im def starting to get real sick of waitlists...anyways, im sorry u guys didnt get any good news, but gluck w/ your other waitlists!

Hey guys, I spoke with Shannon a couple of days ago and.....I'm in! I will definately be going, but now I need a place to do trivial things like sleep and eat. If anybody else out there is looking for a roomate let me know. Good luck to everybody on the waitlists....I feel your pain.
i got my rejection letter yesterday. I wish i would just catch a break. At least it was not another waitlist, i'm already on five of those suckers. Oh, congrat to all those accepted into the program, hope it works out for you. 👍 👍
