Activities for summer after Freshman year?

See if there are any possibilities through your school to go abroad. Are you sure that you can't do research. I know many professors aren't willing to take on freshmen during their first year, but usually they are looking for people over the summer. I would go to pre-health or biology advising office and see if they have any recommendations.

The summer after my freshman year, I pretty much slept, played video games, watched TV, and slept some more. And things seemed to work out for me. It's not the end of the world if you don't do anything this summer.
