I have an offer to work abroad from June-July for an NGO where I could work on a public/global health related project of my choosing-- my only concern is that secondaries might come through while I'm there and I may need to take Casper during the abroad period (June-July). Will the app benefits outweigh the potential cons here?

- it's my family's country of origin but i was not born there and haven't been there in 16 years
- projects are focused on rural and underserved areas' infrastructure
- i did NOT apply for the purpose of boosting my app in any way, rather instead for personal development and a desire to connect with my culture in a way in which i can give back and form long term connections-- however i do not think i would want to risk impeding on my app cycle in a detrimental way.

Does this country have reliable internet connections? Do you mind using Elon Musk's Starlink network?

I would worry more about having to fly out for in-person interviews later on... but we at least have virtual/online interviews.

Back in the day, we were always told that during the application cycle , we should treat the process like a full time job. You are applying for medical school. Your time and attention should be focused on applying. If you really want to take this opportunity, maybe think about applying next cycle. Medical schools aren’t going anyplace. They will be there when you are ready to focus on the application.
